USER PREFERENCES
This screen allows you to set your own user preferences. The Default preferences for your installation of WSD were set on the Default User Preferences screen.
You can set many options on this screen to provide the 'look' that you want for your work screen. These options are described below. Because the settings available to you depend what is currently set, click "Save Preferences" and the return to this screen to see if other options are available to you.

Masthead |
Select the type of masthead that will be used on WSD screens:

Menus |
Select whether there will be a Menu Bar and Tool Bar with the Explorer masthead:

Navigation |
Select the type of navigation display that will be used on WSD screens:

Buttons on | Select the location of the function buttons on WSD processing screens: Left Side or Right Side. |
Background Color | Assign the background color for the tables on the WSD processing screens -- either grey or blue. |
Background Fill | Select the background fill for the tables on the WSD processing screens: Stripe or Block. Note: If you use the Explorer masthead (see above) you must use the Block Background Fill. |
Windows | Select Single or Multiple pop-up windows on WSD processing screens. Note: View, Preview, About, Tutorial, and Help windows will always be displayed in a new (pop-up) window. |
Show | Select the Menu Bar, the Tool Bar, or both to display on WSD processing screens. Note: These selection bars are only displayed Menu=Java (see above). You may also Hide or Show the Menu Bar and Tool Bar by selecting the applicable icon on the left side each bar. |
Screen Colors |
Select colors for the following components of your WSD screens: Masthead Background, Menu/Toolbar Background, Field Background, Error Windows and Screen Background. Note: Only available for Explorer Masthead with Menu= Java. To select your preferred colors for these components, click the applicable heading and select the color from the "Select ... Color" window that displays. |
WYSIWYG Editor
Edit Online Default | Select WYSIWYG Editor or HTML Text Editor as the default editor for creating and editing online. Note: Only available if you have BOTH "HTML/Text" AND "WYSIWYG" Editing permission. See your User Administrator. |
EditLive! Image List | Select whether WSD is
to use Links or Inline images with EditLive!.
Note: Only available if you have "WYSIWYG" Editing permission. See your User Administrator. |
Editor |
This list only displays if your site owner has licensed a WYSIWYG editor. If the message "No WYSIWYG editor is installed" displays, contact your System Administrator. If your site has licensed a WYSIWYG editor, you may have to download it to your local computer before you begin using WSD to create or manage content using the WYSIWYG option. Note: If you do not select and download an authorized editor from this list, WSD will automatically download/install your site's default editor the first time you attempt to create/edit a request. |
EDITLIVE! Filter Options
This section allows you to set options that allow you to cleanup and format the output from the editor, based on the filter options that you set. Note: The selections below are only valid if the EditLive! WYSIWYG editor is installed, and your Use Permissions include "WYSIWYG Editing Allowed" and "EditLive! Filter Access" (assigned by the User Administrator ).

Convert Font
Styles |
Check to specify that presentation tags
(e.g. font, bold, italic, underline) in the HTML source code are to be converted
to style rules when the EditLive! contents are retrieved. Only
available when Filtering is set to On. |
Indent
Tags |
Check to specify that relevant tags in the HTML
source code should be indented to make the code more readable when
the EditLive! contents are retrieved. Only available when Filtering is set
to On. |
Format
Source |
Check to specify that the HTML source code is to be rendered into a more readable format when the EditLive! contents are retrieved. Only available when Filtering is set to On. |
Remove Optional
Tags |
Check to specify that extraneous tags should be
removed from the HTML source code when the EditLive! content
is retrieved. Only available when Filtering is set to On. |
XHTML
Compliant |
Check to specify that the HTML source code is
to be output as XHTML when the EditLive! contents are
retrieved. Only available when Filtering is set to On. |
XML
Compliant |
Check to specify that the HTML source code is output as XML when the EditLive! contents are retrieved. Only available when Filtering is set to On. |
Format Attribute Case |
Select Upper or Lower case for attribute names (e.g. color, border, name) in the HTML source code when the EditLive! contents are retrieved. Only available when Filtering is set to On. |
Format Tag Case |
Select Upper or Lower case for tag names, such as BODY and
FONT, when the EditLive! contents are retrieved. Only available
when Filtering is set to On. |
Wrap
Line Length |
Type the line length
to be used to wrap the HTML source code when the EditLive! contents
are retrieved; type 0 (zero) for no wrap. Only available when
Filtering is set to On. |
Translate Special Characters |
Select whether special
characters inserted into EditLive! are to be translated to HTML notation in the HTML
source code when the EditLive! contents are retrieved. Only
available when Filtering is set to On. Possible values:

WSD View/Preview Options
Submission Documents List Number of Rows | Specify the number of rows in the Submit New Request list. |
Current Requests List Number of Rows | Specify the number of rows in the request window for each workflow stage. |
Edit Online Number of Rows | Specify the number of rows in the text editor window. |
Edit Online Number of Columns | Specify the number of columns in the text editor window. |
Comments Window Number of Rows | Specify the number of rows in the comments window. |
Comments Window Number of Columns | Specify the number of columns in the comments window. |
Screen Width (in pixels) | Specify the width of the WSD screen in pixels. Note: If your site uses long directory and/or filenames, this width needs to be set to the maximum width to minimize filename truncation. |
Compare View Width (in pixels) | Specify the total width of the view window for the Compare with Published "View Request" function. If the Compare View is Horizontal (see below), both views will display in the width specified here. Note: If you do not specify a width, WSD will use the maximum width available on your display monitor. |
Compare View | Specify whether the Compare View
windows should display as follows:

View/Preview Window Options checkboxes | Select or de-select the following options: Show Toolbar, Show Location, Show Directory Buttons, Show Status Bar, Show Menu Bar. Note: We recommend you use fewer options in the preview window than you do in your normal browser wondow so you can tell the difference between a preview and regular browser window. This will help minimize risk of accidentally closing the wrong window and losing information. |
FUNCTIONS: |
Save the changes made on this screen and return to the Application Desktop or workflow stage screen from which you accessed this screen. Your new preferences will take effect immediately. | |
Displays your Edit User Info screen where you can change your name, e-mail address, URL and Notifications. | |
Displays your Change User Password screen. | |
Cancel any changes made on this screen, and return to the Application Desktop or workflow stage screen from which you access this screen. |
