ABOUT

The About screen displays the following system information about WebSite Director (WSD) and your browser: 

• Version - the WSD version number.
• Client Information - displays the following information:
  • Browser Description - a brief description of your browser.
  • JavaScript - indicates if your browser supports JavaScript. If your browser supports JavaScript, WSD displays any documents you are viewing or previewing in a separate window. JavaScript is required to use the browser based WYSIWYG editors and perform browser-based content uploads.
    • Enabled indicates that your browser supports JavaScript;
    • Disabled indicates that it does not. When JavaScript is disabled, WSD will ignore those User Preferences that require JavaScript (Explorer Masthead, etc) during the current session. Application behavior may be different than expected, unless your preferences were set for the native Browser Interface.
• Server Information - displays information about the server on which WSD is installed. This information is used by our Customer Support Team to assist in problem resolution. Examples shown are representative, but do not show all possible values that may be displayed:
  • Platform - the type and version information of your server machine operating system.
    For Example:
    • FreeBSD 2.1.7-RELEASE, or
    • Windows NT 4.0
  • Web Server - the type and version information of your web server software.
    For Example:
    • Apache/1.2.6, or
    • Microsoft-IIS/4.0
  • Database Server - the type and version information of your database server software.
    For Example:
    • mSQL 1.0.16, or
    • ACCESS 3.5 Jet (ACCESS)
  • Database Connection - describes the type of connection between WSD and the database server.
    For Example:
    • Localhost via UNIX socket, or
    • wsd (c:\odbc-datastores\wsd) using ODBC 02.50
• License information - displays the license information. WebSite Director opens and reads a license file each time it starts. The license information includes the following:
  • Version number of WSD for which the license is valid.
    For Example: 2.x
  • Expiration date (for Beta and Trial licenses).
    For Example:
    • No Expiration Date, or
    • Fri Jun 26 10:48:43 1998
  • Number of licensed users for this installation of WSD.
    For Example: 20
  • Number of Approval Classes for this installation of WSD.
    For Example: 10
  • Unique License Key assigned to the Server.
  • Unique Machine ID , or Name, up to 19 characters in length, of the server for which the license is valid. If the Machine ID is longer than 19 characters, only the first 19 characters are used in license generation.
    For Example:
  • epsilon.anyserver.com, or
  • MARKETINGSERVER
  • Installation Path displays when a license is for a specific location -- as in multiple installations for the same server -- and indicates where the software is installed.
  • License Options indicate the additional WSD options for which you are licensed. Specific values vary and may be changed between versions. This information is meaningful only to your CyberTeams Customer Service representative in determining license characteristics for your installation.
