COMMENTS

WebSite Director (WSD) provides Comments windows where you may view comments previously made about the request. If you have permission, you may add your own comments. These comments will remain with the content associated with this request, and will be retained in the content's Version History. Permissions are set on the User Permissions screen.

The following Comments options are provided by WSD, depending on your User Permissions:

• Users who only have Access permission for a stage may only view comments about a request in that stage. Click here for Example
• Users with Approval and/or Editing permission for a stage may enter their comments about a request, but may not change previously entered comments. Click here for Example
• Users with Access permission who have "Edit Previous Comments" permission may enter their own comments about a request, and also change previously entered comments if they are the Submitter, Author or Maintainer of the request. Click here for Example

The following describes the Comments windows you may be presented with depending on these options:

User may only view comments:

This window displays comments previously made about the request. You may not change these comments or enter new comments on this page.

User may not change previously entered comments:

Previously Entered Comments	This window displays comments previously made about the request. You may not change these comments. Note: Permission to change previously entered comments is assigned via the System Permission "Edit Previous Comments" on the User Permissions screen.
Your New Comments	If you have Approval or Editing permission for this stage, you may enter your  comments in this window. Users with only Access permission for a stage (set on the User Permissions screen) may also enter comments if "Allow comment editing in View-only stages" has been set to "Yes" on the System Policies screen.
APPEND NAME AND DATE TO COMMENTS (checkbox)	If the checkbox is present and checked, your name and the date will be added to your comments.  The ability to change this checkbox is determined by the Default Append Name and Date to Comments setting the System Policies screen. If the setting is Yes, you may deselect this checkbox if you do not want your name and the date appended to your comments; if the setting is No, you must select this check box to append your name and the date to your comments; if the setting is Always, there will be no checkbox, and your name and the date will Always be appended to your comments.

FUNCTIONS
ADD	Adds comments entered in the Your New Comments window and returns to the previous screen.
RETURN	Discards any comments entered on this screen, and returns to the previous screen.

User may change previously entered comments:

COMMENTS WINDOW

This window displays comments previously made about the request. If you have "Edit Previous Comments" permission (assigned on the User Permissions screen) and you are the Submitter, Author or Maintainer of the request, you may revise these comments and/or add your own comments.

APPEND NAME AND DATE TO COMMENTS (checkbox)

FUNCTIONS
UPDATE	Update the comments changed and/or entered in the comments window and returns to the previous screen.
RETURN	Discards any comments entered on this screen, and returns to the previous screen.
