ADD/UPLOAD TEMPLATE (Functions)

FUNCTIONS:
UPLOAD To upload a new request to the WSD workflow process, complete the following steps (then click one of the "Finish Request" buttons):
1 Type the path and name of the template on your computer into the Local Filename data entry field located to the immediate right of the UPLOAD button.  Instead of typing the file name, you may click the Browse button to select the file.
2 Click UPLOAD to upload the template. WSD displays a confirmation screen after the upload is finished. 
3 Click Ok on the confirmation screen to return to this screen.  
 
VIEW REQUEST Displays the uploaded or newly created template's HTML source. 

Note for all but E-mail templates: To view a Sample of how template the will look when published, click "View Sample" before selecting this function.

Warning: Because templates are only fragments of HTML code, a template may NOT display properly in "View Sample" mode, depending on your browser's ability display incomplete pages!

PROPERTIES Displays the Properties screen for the template.
CREATE ONLINE

Select this function if you wish to create the new template online or edit the Uploaded template.
Note: You may see two radio buttons labeled WYSIWYG or Text, based your user permissions and the type of template.

1 Select the method for creating your template: WYSIWYG or TEXT WYSIWYG (Does not apply to E-mail templates) - WSD supports two WYSIWYG editors -- EditLive! (included with WSD Pro) and eWebEditPro (may be purchased independently) -- so you can create your template online. If you have both editors installed, you can select your preferred editor on the User Preferences screen. Note: This selection only displays if your site owner has licensed the WYSIWYG editors and the WYSIWYG server drivers have been downloaded and installed from the WSD download area.  If the message "No WYSIWYG editor is installed" displays,contact your System Administrator.
TEXT - WSD provides a browser editor screen so you can create your HTML template online. Note that due to browser constraints, templates created this way may not exceed 32k bytes.

Click CREATE ONLINE. WSD displays the applicable window so you can create your template. When you finish entering the text, click UPDATE AND RETURN to save the information and return to this screen. Then click one of the "Finish Request" buttons

Finish Request: SUBMIT or PUBLISH

SUBMIT (WSD Pro)
When you have finished and are ready to submit this request into the Workflow process, select this function. WSD saves the new request and displays the Request Processed screen with the following information:

  • the approval stage into which the new request was placed,
  • the Request Type and the pathname and filename of the document 
  • A button titled: RETURN TO SUBMIT NEW REQUEST, which will return you to the Submit New Request screen, and 
  • if you use Single Window mode (set in  User Preferences) and you have permission to access, edit, or approve requests in the stage, a button labeled GO TO <Workflow Stage Name> (the workflow stage into which the new request was placed) .

PUBLISH (WSD Advanced)
When you have finished and are ready to publish this request, select this function. WSD publishes the new request and displays the Request Processed screen confirming the ADD and the following information:

  • a link to view the published page in a new browser window.
  • a button titled: RETURN TO SUBMIT NEW REQUEST, which will return you to the Submit New Request screen 
Finish Request: SAVE Saves the new template and places it in your Submission workflow stage. This is a private workflow stage where you can submit and work on requests before submitting them into the workflow process. Note: Requests in your Submission stage can only be viewed by you and the System Administrator.
Finish Request: CANCEL Displays the Confirm Cancel Request  screen where you will be prompted to confirm cancellation of this request.
