USER DIRECTORY PERMISSIONS

This screen allows you to identify specific WSD users who will ether be allowed to, or prevented from submitting new requests to update content in the directory selected on the Maintain Web Site page.

INFORMATION ON THIS SCREEN:
Directory Path The directory path selected on the Maintain Web Site screen
Access Option Radio Buttons

These radio buttons determine the type of restriction WSD will apply when new requests are submitted for any content being added to, or otherwise manipulated in, this directory. Valid choices are:

  • Full Access -- WSD will not prevent any users from submitting requests.
  • Allow/Prevent updates to this directory -- WSD will allow/prevent the listed users from submitting requests to manipulate content in this directory. Note: This directory will be visible to all users and available for navigational purposes
  • Allow/Prevent access and updates to this directory -- WSD will allow/prevent the listed users from seeing this directory, thereby also preventing them from submitting requests to manipulate content in this directory.

User To Add A drop-down list of all WSD Users. You may select individual users to populate the "access and/or updates to the following users:" list displayed below the Allow/Prevent Radio Buttons 
Allow/Prevent Radio Buttons

These radio buttons are used to determine the type of restriction to apply to the users listed under "access and/or updates to the following users:" displayed immediately below these radio buttons. Valid choices are:

  • Allow - Only those users appearing in the list will be allowed to submit new requests to manipulate content stored in this directory.
  • Prevent - The users appearing in the list will NOT be allowed to submit new requests to manipulate content stored in this directory.

FUNCTIONS:
UPDATE Select this function to save the users and permissions added or changed on this screen. Note that you must select Cancel to return to the Directory Properties screen.
ADD USER

Select a user from the "User To Add" drop-down list and then select this function to add the user to the Allow/Prevent access and/or update to the following users: list. You may repeat this process until all applicable users are displayed in the list before you select Update.

  • If the selected Users are to be allowed permission for the Allow/Prevent updates to this directory or Allow/Prevent access and updates to this directory selections above, select "Allow." 
  • If the Users may not have these permission, select "Prevent."
ADD ALL USERS

Select this function to add all users to the "access to the following user:" list.

  • If All Users are to be allowed permission for the Allow/Prevent updates to this directory or Allow/Prevent access and updates to this directory selections above, select "Allow." 
  • If No Users may have these permission, select "Prevent."
REMOVE USER

Select a user from the "Allow/Prevent access and/or update to the following users:" list and then select this function to remove the user from the list. You may repeat this process until all applicable users are removed from the list before you select Update.

REMOVE ALL USERS Select this function to remove all user names from the "Allow/Prevent access and/or update to the following users:" list.
CANCEL

Select this function to return to the Directory Properties.

Note: If you have already used an Add or Remove function, this function will no longer be available.
