Using the EditLive! editor window,
click at the location in the document where you want to insert the
image. |

Click the Insert Images icon to display
the Insert Image From window. |

Use one of the following selections
to select an
image: |

Selecting an image from your
Remote Server: |
|
- Click the radio button in front of
Remote Server and click Browse Server to display either
- the list of links to images in your
images directory (if "Links" was selected in User Preferences), or
- a list of
the images (if "Inline was selected in User Preferences).
- If the list
of links displays, select and click a link to display the image in an
Image Insert window.
- To deselect an image, click "Back" to
return to the list of links.
- Use your mouse to drag the image to the
Drag Image Here window.
- Click OK to
return to the Insert Image From window.
Note:
The URL will be displayed under "Image Location" using the radio buttons located under
the displayed URL, choose whether you want the URL inserted as an
"Absolute URL" or a "Relative URL" |

Selecting an image from a page on another server
on the World Wide Web: |
|
- Click
the radio button in front of World Wide Web to navigate
to a page on any other Internet server and click Browse
Web
- In the new pop-up window, type the
fully qualified URL to any Internet web page and select Enter to display
the page you identified.
- Use your
mouse to drag any image from the displayed page to the Drag
Image Here window.
- Click OK to return to the Insert Image From
window.
Note: The URL will be
displayed under "Image Location"
- If you navigated to your
own web server, you may choose whether you want the URL inserted as
an "Absolute URL" or a "Relative URL"

Entering an image URL as
text: |

- Click the radio
button under Enter Image URL as text
- Type a fully
qualified image URL into the data entry field under
Image Location on the right side of the
screen
|

Selecting an image from your local
machine: |
|
- Click the radio button in front of
Local Machine and click Browse Local
- In the new pop-up window, locate the image
you want to insert from your local machine and click Open. You will
return to the insert image from window and the image will be
visible in the image preview box.
Note 1:
This option is only available if an Image Upload
Directory has been assigned as a property for the
directory where the document is going to be published or
an Image Upload Directory has
been set via the system configuration screen. If none is designated, the option to select an
image from the local machine will be grayed out.
Note 2: After inserting the
image in your document and clicking preview, update, or update and
return, the Save Image Files pop-up window will
open. Click OK to upload the image(s). You will be prompted for
your username and password. WSD will publish the image(s)
directly into the designated
directory.

You may type a value into the
data entry field located under Alternative Text if you
want browsers rendering the image to display a textual description when a
site visitor hovers a mouse over this image. |

You may modify the image
properties associated with Layout or
Size associated with the image you selected |

Click Insert
Image to insert the selected image into the page and return to
the online editing screen. |
