HOW TO DOWNLOAD THE WYSIWYG EDITOR

If your WebSite Director (WSD) installation includes a WYSIWYS editor, the first thing you should do before you begin using WSD to create or manage content is to download and install the WYSIWYG editor to your local computer. Depending on your WSD license, you may have two choices of editors to download: EditLive! – the WSD default WYSIWYG editor or EWebEditPro – you must contact Ektron at http://www.ektron.com to arrange for an eWebEditPro license.

CyberTeams recommends that you download your selected WYSIWYG editor before you begin using WSD create/edit functions. This document will guide you through the steps required to access your User Preferences and download the EditLive! WYSIWYG editor to your local computer.
Note: If you do not install the editor using your User Preferences screen, WSD will download/install EditLive! automatically the first time you attempt to create/edit a request.
  1. Log on to WebSite Director (WSD) using your WSD User Name and Password. The Application Desktop displays three selection bars - Menu Bar, Menu Tool Bar and Function Tool Bar – that provide access to WSD functions.  These instructions are for the Explorer user interface.
  2. Select to display your User Preferences screen. This screen is divided into three sections: User Interface, WYSIWYG editor, and Display Options. You will be using the WYSIWYG editor section to download the editor.
  3. Click Download EditLive! to display the File Download Window, and download EditLive!.
  4. After the EditLive! download finishes, go to the directory where it was downloaded, and click the filename to begin the installation.
  5. When the installation is finished the following confirmation window displays.
  6. Click “Finish” to exit the installation.
  7. To begin using the WYSIWYG editor with WSD, make sure you have selected WYSIWYG as your Default Online Editor on the User Preferences screen. If you require a Text editor to edit specific content, you can make this change on the Edit Request screen.
