HOW TO CHANGE EDITABLE CONTENT

This guide provides instructions for using the WYSIWYG and TEXT editors provided by WebSite Director (WSD) to create and/or edit content online. These editors can be accessed immediately after you submit a new request to Add/Upload, Modify or Copy editable content, and from the Edit Request screen for content that has already been submitted.

To edit content online you must have permission to access the WYSIWYG and/or Text editors. Your User Administrator assigns these permissions.

Accessing the WYSIWYG and Text Editors

There are four WSD screens that provide access to the editors. Three are available during the Submit New Request process: Add/Upload Document screen (click "Create Online"), and the Modify Document and Copy Document screens (click "Edit Online"). After a request has been submitted, you may access the editors from the Edit Request screen (click "Edit Online").

This document will guide you through the steps required to use these editors to make changes to your content after you have accessed these screens and clicked the "Create Online" or "Edit Online" functions. Each of the WSD processing screens discussed here also has a Help screen link to guide you through your changes. The illustrations show screen images that use the Explorer/Java user interface (see the User Interface section on your User Preferences screen).

Using the WYSIWYG Editor

The On-line WYSIWYG Editor allows you to edit a document online without having to learn HTML. This screen also allows you to insert images into your content. See "Insert Images" at the end of this document.

The icons and help button located at the top of the editor window will assist you in creating and editing your document. Depending on your permissions.
Each WYSIWYG editor window has a Help button provided by the vendor to assist you with the editor's functions. Explanations of the WSD functions listed at the bottom of the window are provided below.
