HOW TO SUBMIT A REQUEST TO DELETE EXISTING CONTENT
 
This document describes how to use the Submit New Request function to Delete Existing Content, using the Explorer/Java user interface.
  1. Log on to WebSite Director (WSD) using your WSD User Name and Password.
    • The Application Desktop provides access to all WSD functions for which you have permission.
  2. Click Submit New Request under Things I can do on the Application Desktop.
    • The Submit New Request screen displays.
    • The directories are listed in the left column (titled "Folder Navigation") under the Documents title.
    • The default workflow stage displays under the screen title in the upper right portion of the screen. The value will always reflect the stage into which requests will be placed, based on the following:

      1. If you have been assigned an Approval Class, the new request will be placed in the Default Workflow Stage for your assigned Approval Class.
      2. If you have not been assigned an Approval Class, and the subdirectory displayed in the Address space has an assigned Approval Class, the value will reflect the submission stage for the Approval Class assigned to the subdirectory.
      3. If none of the above are true, the request will be placed submission stage assigned to the Default Approval Class for your system (assigned on the System Configuration screen).
  3. Navigate to the directory in which the existing content resides.
  4. In the list of Files/Folders in the right column (titled "File Selection"), locate and click on the file/content to be deleted.
  5. Click  on the Function Bar to display the Delete Document screen.
  6. This screen allows you to complete the Submit Delete process by entering/selecting the information described below, and submitting the request.
    • Submitting to:  Based on your user permissions, this drop-down list displays the workflow stage into which this request will be placed when you click the SUBMIT button. You may also select from a list of other stages in the Approval Class. If you do not have approval permission for a workflow stage assigned to the Approval Class, you may still approve the request into that stage. However, any stages that may follow that stage will not be listed.
    • Comments:   You may type your comments regarding this request, or instructions to other members collaborating in your workflow, into this data entry box.
  7. Select one of the following three options in the Finish Request box:
    a. SUBMIT WSD saves the new request and displays the Request Processed screen.

Note: The Go to <Workflow Stage Name> on the Request Processed screen only displays if you have selected the Single Window display mode (on User Preferences) and if you have permission to access, edit, or approve documents in <Workflow Stage Name>.

b. SAVE Select this function if you do not wish to submit this request into the Workflow at this time. WSD will place the request into your Pending Requests workflow stage, and display the Request Saved confirmation screen. Note: The Pending Requests stage is a private workflow stage where you can work on requests before Approving them into the workflow process. Requests in your Pending Requests stage can only be viewed by you and a System Administrator.

c. CANCEL Select this function to cancel the request. WSD displays the following screen where you can either confirm that you want to cancel (abort) the request, or return to the Add/Upload Document screen.
