USER QUICK START

INTRODUCTION

This guide will help you get started with WebSite Director (WSD). Before you get started, you should be familiar with basic web page design and the use of  WYSIWYG editors. You should also know how to incorporate images into pages, and know how to link from page to page.

Each WSD screen has access to a help screen that provides instructions for the screen's functions. Just click the Help button or icon at the top of the screen to access these instructions.

FIRST...

... contact your System and/or User Administrator to determine your WSD permissions.

NEXT...

... (for WSD Pro users) download the WYSIWYG editor, as follows:

  1. Log on to WSD using your User Name and Password. The WSD Application Desktop displays. (If this is the first time you are viewing the Application Desktop, the format is the default set by your User Administrator . If you would prefer a different format or colors from those displayed, you may change them on your User Preferences screen.)
  2. Click User Preferences or the User Preferences icon  to display your User Preferences screen.
  3. Go down to the WYSIWYG Editor section on this screen and download the editor selected for your site. Refer to the User Preferences help screen for instructions by clicking the Help icon  or HELP, depending on the Masthead you are using.

THEN...

...review the Application Desktop Screen functions.

The Application Desktop functions allow you to either perform a function on the Application Desktop, or access another screen where you can perform the selected function.
