SYSTEM DEFAULTS
Accessed from the System Configuration Screen

This screen allows authorized users to set default "replacement variables" to be used in the Create Repository, Configure Virtual Host, and Configure New Repository screens. When these variables are set on this screen, users can create new repositories for virtual domains by setting only three fields: Repository ID, Repository Description, and Virtual Host. All other repository configuration information will use the defaults set on this screen.

After you complete the information on this screen, click [SAVE DEFAULTS] to save the defaults and return to the Application Desktop screen. Click [CANCEL] to return to the Application Desktop screen without creating defaults.

Working Directory: The Working Directory under which virtual domains will be established.
- It will be referenced by the $WORKINGDIR variable.
User List - Sets the User List default to either Shared or Private.
- If a repository is Shared, the user list will be shared by all other Shared Repositories
- If a repository is Private, the repository may only be accessed by users who have Private Directory permissions as set on the User Administration screens.
Request Directory Not available for WSD Express or WSD Lite - The directory used to store request files while they are being processed by WSD.
- Example: $WORKINGDIR/requests
Version Directory Not available for WSD Express or WSD Lite - The directory where version history files are stored. Note: Although WSD Express provides a version history, it's Version Directory is built in to that application.
- Example: $WORKINGDIR/version
Template Directory Not available for WSD or WSD Lite - This is the directory where page layout templates are stored.
- Example: $WORKINGDIR/templates
Default Edit Online Image Directory Not available for WSD or WSD Lite - The default directory for the images to be used by the WYSIWYG Online Editor when creating or editing a document located in the directory.
Dynamic Content Preview Directory - The directory where requests that reference dynamic content from your third-party software (i.e., Cold Fusion or active server pages) are temporarily stored during view and preview within WSD
Access Control File - This is the file that controls user access to WSD.
- Example: $CGIDIR/$ACCESSFILE
Password File - This is the file that contains the user names and passwords for users validated to access the WSD executable that will manage this repository.
- Example: $CGIDIR/.htpasswd
Activity Log File - This is the file that contains a log of all WSD activity for this repository.
- Example: $CGIDIR/wsd.log
Error Log File - This file is used to log all errors that occur in WSD.
- Example: $CGIDIR/wsd.err
SQL Journal File - This file is used to log all database updates made by WSD.
- Example: @CGIDIR/wsd.sql
Initial User - this is the username assigned to the initial user who is validated to use WSD to manipulate the data in this repository.
- Example: $USERNAME.
Virtual Host Defaults
- Program Directory - The directory into which WSD will be installed.
  - Example: $DOCROOT/cgi-bin/wsd
- Server Root Directory - This value is used as the filename prefix when you do not provide fully-qualified pathnames for the Access Control File, Password File, or Activity Log File fields on this screen.
  - Example: $DOCROOT
- Document Root Directory - This directory forms the path prefix for the Working Directory and Template Directory.
  - Example: $DOCROOT
- Program URL - The URL to access the installed WSD module that controls the data in this Repository.
  - Example: http://$HOSTNAME/$CGIURL/WSD
Non-Virtual Host Defaults
- Program Directory - The directory into which WSD will be installed.
  - Example: $PARENTDIR/$REPOSITORY
- Program URL - The URL to access the installed WSD module that controls the data in this Repository.
  - Example: $CGIURL/wsd

Default Variable Definitions

$ACCESSFILE - The TeamWSD Access Control Filename (usually .htaccess or .nsconfig).
$CGIDIR - The offset from the Server Root Directory of the Program Directory. If the Server Root is empty, this is the full Program Directory.
$CGIURL - The URL equivalent of the $CGIDIR variable (converted to forward slashes if needed and starting with a forward slash)
$DOCROOT - The Document Root Directory.

If a non-virtual repository is being created, this value comes from TeamWSD's config file.
If a virtual repository is being created, and if the web server is Apache, the value is looked up in the web server config file. Otherwise the value comes from the Configure Virtual Host screen.

$HOSTNAME - The Virtual Host from the Create Repository screen.
$PARENTDIR - The Parent Directory of the TeamWSD Installation Directory.
$REPOSITORY - The Repository ID from the Create Repository screen
$SERVERROOT - The Server Root Directory.

If a non-virtual repository is being created, this value comes from TeamWSD's config file.
If a virtual repository is being created, and if the web server is Apache, the value is looked up in the web server config file. Otherwise the value comes from the Configure Virtual Host screen.

$USERNAME - The username of the current TeamWSD user.
$WORKINGDIR - The Working Directory from the Create Repository screen.
