APPLY TEMPLATE

The WebSite Director Express (WSD) Apply Template function is used to apply a revised Template to all documents that use the template.

  • If a field has been added to the template, it will appear empty on the page, or will contain any default data.
  • If a field has been deleted, the old data will be discarded.
When you use the Apply Template function, an information screen lists the documents that were updated, and lists any documents or directories that could ot be updated along with the reason they were not updated, if known. If you do not immediately Apply a revised template, it will be applied when a document using it is edited and saved.

To apply a Template:

  1. On the Maintain Templates screen, select the Template to be applied from the Templates list.
  2. Click APPLY TEMPLATE.
    • WSD immediately updates all documents that use the selected Template, and displays a list of documents to which the template was applied.
