DEFINE REGIONS

This screen, only accessible from Live Update, displays the Edit Online screen where you may define new editable regions on a document. The Continue button takes you to

allows you to restrict availability of templates (Page Layout and Edit Layout) that may be assigned to content that resides in the directory displayed at Directory Path.  "Available" templates will be displayed to c ontent contributors when they submit a request to add content that will reside in the directory.

This screen is a new screen only accessible from Live Update,  that

provides a special interface to the Edit Online screen for the

purpose of defining new editable regions in a web page, hence the

name. This screen provides a "one-stop shop" for setting up a page

for editing. The Continue button takes you to a special version of

the Edit Online screen in either WYSIWYG or Text mode, as specified

in the Edit Mode selection. The Continue button also automatically

turns on the "Document contains template fields" flag that is needed

for the web page to use editable regions. You can also turn on

versioning for a document at the same time if the document is not

already being versioned.

When you select the WYSIWYG option in the Define Regions screen you

get an Edit Online screen with a reconfigured version of the WYSIWYG

editor with two special custom toolbar buttons: Define Region and

Remove Region. You can select ranges of text, images, or tables and

use the Define Region button to create an editable region (the Live

Update term for a WSD template field) in the selected area of the web

page. When using the TEXT option in Define Regions the Edit Online

screen works as it normally does in text mode, although the WSD Field

popup has been redesigned to look the same in either WYSIWYG or Text modes.

The Define Regions screen needs a help screen named

"WSDEXPDefine_Regions.html".
