WebSite Director Lite and Express Quick Start

Introduction

Before you get started, you should be familiar with basic web page design and, if you have WSD Express,  WYSIWYG editors. You should also know how to incorporate images into pages, and know how to link from page to page.

This guide will help you get started with your WebSite Director product. Each WSD Lite and Express screen has access to a help screen that provides instructions for the screen's functions. Just click the Help button or icon at the top of the screen to access these instructions.

FIRST...

... (for WSD Express users) download the WYSIWYG editor, as follows:

Click the User Preferences icon or Function Button to display your User Preferences screen. Go to the WYSIWYG Editor section on this screen and download the editor selected for your site. Refer to the User Preferences help screen for instructions.

THEN...

...review the Application Desktop Screen functions

The Application Desktop screen displays the current directory, and a list of subdirectories and documents, images, etc. that reside in the current directory.  Depending on the default user interface selected for your site's masthead, you may have either icons or buttons that allow you to select certain functions (see below). You can change this interface on your User Preferences screen.
