SUBMIT NEW REQUEST - TEMPLATES

This screen begins the Submit New Request process. It allows you to select/change the Request Category, Current Directory, and (for all but Add/Upload Template) the template to be submitted into the WSD workflow. If you wish to submit a request for content, select Document in the drop-down window.

Workflow Stage

The default workflow stage for your system displays under the screen title. This may or may not  be the stage into which your request will be submitted. The workflow stage for your request will be based on the Approval Class, as follows:

  • If you have been assigned an Approval Class, the new request will be placed in the Default Workflow Stage for your assigned Approval Class.
  • If you have not been assigned an Approval Class, and the subdirectory for your new request has an assigned Approval Class, your request will be placed into the Default Workflow Stage for the subdirectory.
  • Otherwise the request will be placed in the stage displayed under the screen title. The Default Approval Class for your system was assigned on the System Configuration screen.

NOTE: If your request is for an existing template that was originally created via WSD, but modified/re-published to the site by some other method (for example, Maintain Templates or FTP), you will receive a message asking if you want to submit the published version or the WSD version. If you select WSD, you will be submitting the previously published version, not the current version on the web site.

Directory Navigation

To navigate to the directory and/or template, use one of the following methods:

  • Type the full path into the "Current Directory" field. If your User Preferences are set to Menu= Java, then click   Change Current Directory. WSD redisplays this screen with the list of directories (and templates in that directory) in the "Directories and Documents" or "Current Documents" list.
  • You may also complete the following steps until the "Current Directory" field displays the correct directory.
    1. Select (highlight) a directory name from the "Directories and Templates" or "Current Templates" list.
    2. Click either  or the "Change Directory" button to re-display this screen with the template directory displayed in the "Current Directory" field.
    3. For other than Add/Upload, locate the template in the list and select the applicable function button.

To back up one directory level, WSD provides one of the following methods depending on your User Preferences settings:

  • click to re-display this screen with the new path in the "Current Directory" or "Directories and Templates" field.
  • select the 1st entry in the list (contains ".." to indicate the parent directory) under "Directories and Documents" or "Current Documents" -- then click the "Change Directory" button to re-display this screen with the new path in the "Current Directory" field.

Warning: If you do NOT navigate to a directory before using the Add/Upload function, the location to which the document should be published will have to be set on the document's Properties screen prior to publishing.

Function Buttons

The Function Buttons take you to the appropriate screen where you will enter information about your request before it is submitted. You may also View existing templates listed in the "Directories and Documents" or "Current Documents" list.

    • To view a Sample of how the selected template will look when published, click "View Sample" before selecting this function. Because templates are only fragments of HTML code, a template may NOT display properly in "View Sample" mode, depending on your browser's ability to display incomplete pages!

To begin the submission process:

  1. In the "Directories and Documents" or "Current Documents" list, navigate to the applicable directory in which the new content is to be located.
  2. For all of the functions below (except Add/Upload and Live Submit) you must first select (highlight) the name of a template in the "Directories and Templates" or "Current Templates" list.
