EDIT REQUEST - TEMPLATE

This screen allows you to edit the template associated with the request selected on the previous workflow-stage screen

INFORMATION ON THIS SCREEN:
Request The Request Type (ADD, MODIFY, DELETE, COPY, RENAME, or EMAIL), and the path and filename. If the Request Type is EMAIL, it must be changed to one of the other Request Types. If the Request Type is COPY or RENAME, the destination path and filename will be shown.
Template The path and filename of the template.
Description The description of the template. WSD uses this information in reports and notification messages. It may also be used in META tags and templates. 
Author The name and E-mail Address of the author.
Maintainer The name and E-mail Address of the maintainer.
Leave Request Locked Select this checkbox if you wish to leave the request locked after you leave this screen.
Note: If the Default has been set to "Locked" on the
System Policies screen, this option must be deselected if you wish to leave the request "Unlocked" after you leave this screen.

FUNCTIONS:
UPLOAD

This function allows you to upload a template from your local computer, as follows:
1 Click Upload. The Upload window displays.
2 Type the path and name of the file on your local computer into the Local Filename data entry field Instead of typing the file name, you may click the Browse button to select the file.
3 Click UPLOAD to upload the file. After the template has uploaded, the "Template Upload Complete" screen confirms the upload.
4 Click Ok on the confirmation screen to return to this screen. WSD will automatically close the pop-up window.

NoteWSD will automatically un-check "Leave Request Locked" following your upload.

  • If your site uses the Wp2HTML add-on software, and the uploaded template is a Microsoft Word document (.doc extension), the Convert Word Document to HTML checkbox displays. Select this checkbox if you want to convert the .doc file to HTML.
VIEW REQUEST Select this function to display the template's HTML code in a browser window.
Compare with Published Select this function to display the published and current views of the template's HTML code in a split browser window; the published version is on the left or bottom window, depending on your method of viewing (Horizontal or Vertical) as set on the User Preferences screen.
View Sample Select to display the template as it will look when published. Can be used with Compare with Published.
PROPERTIES Select this function to display the Properties screen for the request.
COMMENTS Select this function to display the Comments windows where you may view comments previously made about the request. If you have permission, you may add your own comments. These comments will remain with the content associated with this request, and will be retained in the content's Version History. For more information, see  Comments.
EDIT ONLINE

Select this function if you wish to edit the request's content online. Note: You may see two radio buttons labeled WYSIWYG and Text, based on your user permissions.

1 Select the method for editing your document: WYSIWYG or TEXT WYSIWYG - Create your content online using the WYSIWYG editor selected on the the User Preferences screen. Note: This selection only displays if your site owner has licensed the WYSIWYG editors and the WYSIWYG server drivers have been downloaded and installed from the WSD download area.  If the message "No WYSIWYG editor is installed" displays,contact your System Administrator.

TEXT - Create your HTML content online using a browser editor. Note that due to browser constraints, documents may not exceed 32k bytes.

Click EDIT ONLINE. WSD displays the applicable window so you can create/edit your content online. When you finish, click UPDATE AND RETURN to save the information and return to this screen. 

DOWNLOAD Select this function to download the template to your local computer. Note: WSD will automatically check "Leave Request Locked" while you are editing the template offline.
UNDO CHANGES Select this function to discard all data added/uploaded during this editing session. This includes any changes made via Edit Online.
RETURN Select this function to return to the workflow stage screen.
