SUBMIT NEW REQUEST - DOCUMENTS

This screen begins the Submit New Request process. It allows you to change the "Default" Request Category (Documents), Current Directory, and (for all but new content) content to be submitted into the WSD workflow. If you are submitting a request for a Template, select Templates in the drop-down window.

Workflow Stage

The default workflow stage for your system displays under the screen title. This may or may not  be the stage into which your request will be submitted. The workflow stage for your request will be based on the Approval Class, as follows:

NOTE: If your request is for an existing document that was originally created via WSD, but modified/re-published to the site by some other method (for example, FTP), you will receive a message asking if you want to submit the published version or the WSD version. If you select WSD, you will be submitting the previously published version, not the current version on the web site.

Locating Existing Content

If you are submitting a request to modify existing content and DO NOT KNOW where the content is currently published, you may create a request with a ficticious filename. Use the "Comments" to provide the necessary information so the document can be located by someone else in the workflow process.

You can also use Live Submit to locate and submit the content.  Make sure there is no directory name in the Current Directory data entry area and then click  Live Submit. A pop-up window lists the available Live Submit functions (Add/Upload, Modify, etc.), and displays your site's home page in a Browser window. Starting with your home page, navigate to the page you wish to submit, then click the applicable function on the Live Submit pop-up window.

Directory Navigation

To navigate to the location on the web site where your content is to be published, use one of the following methods:

Note: If the directory and/or filenames are truncated and your display allows you to view a wider browser window, you may reset your screen width setting on your User Preferences screen.

To back up one directory level, WSD provides one of the following methods depending on your User Preferences settings:

Warning: If you do NOT navigate to a directory before using the Add/Upload function, the location to which the document should be published will have to be set on the document's Properties screen prior to publishing.

Function Buttons

The Function Buttons take you to the appropriate screen where you will enter information about your request before it is submitted. You may also View existing content listed in the "Directories and Documents" or "Current Documents" list. To begin the submission process:

  1. In the "Directories and Documents" or "Current Documents" list, navigate to the applicable directory in which the new content is to be located, or in which current content is located.
  2. For all of the functions below (except Add/Upload and Live Submit) select (highlight) the name of a file in the "Directories and Documents" or "Current Documents" list.
