EDITLIVE! EDITOR

The EditLive! On-line WYSIWYG Editor allows users who are not familiar with HTML to create a document online. The icons and help button located at the top of the editor window will assist you in creating your document.  WebSite Director functions display at the bottom of the screen.

You can also insert images into your content. See the EditLive! Images help for more information. 

INFORMATION ON THIS SCREEN:
Save in web server standard text format Displays if the document has not been previously updated via WSD, and is in a format other than the web server's standard text format. Select this checkbox before you click [Update] to save the document in the web server's standard text format, which will be displayed in parentheses following the option, (LF) for Unix servers or (CRLF) for Windows servers. If you do not select this checkbox, the document will be saved in its current format.
View Source Allows you to view the HTML source for the document or template you are editing.
Preview
  • For documents, displays the document, including any header and footer, in a browser window.
  • For templates, displays the template's HTML code. See View Sample below.
Update Saves the information entered in the WYSIWYG editor  window.
Update and Return Saves the information entered in the WYSIWYG editor window, and returns to the previous screen.
Cancel Discards all additions/changes you have made to the document and returns you to the previous screen
Compare with Published Select this checkbox before you click Preview to display the published and current views of the document in a split browser window. The published version is displayed on the left or bottom window, depending on your method of viewing (Horizontal or Vertical) as set on the User Preferences screen
View Sample Only available when you are editing templates. Select this checkbox before you click Preview to display the template as it will appear when published.
