HOW TO EDIT A REQUEST

When existing content (documents and templates) requires a change, a WebSite Director (WSD) user must create a Modify, Rename, Move (content only) or Copy Request for the affected content, and submit it via the WSD Submit New Request screen. Following  submission of the request, authorized users can use WSD to review, change and/or approve the request, depending on their User Permissions .

WSD provides several ways to change content, based on your User Permissions and your web site's System Policies :

  • You can download the content to your hard drive, make the changes with your third-party software, then upload the revised content.
  • You can make the changes online using the WSD browser editor or one of the supported WYSIWYG editors. If you have the proper User Permission, you may select your preferred method on your User Preferences screen.

How to access the Edit Requests screen

  1. Log on to WSD using your WSD User Name and Password. The format of the Application Desktop screen that displays depends on your selections on your User Preferences screen.
    • If you selected the Browser interface, the Application Desktop page displays the Workflow Stages that contain Requests. The function buttons are located on the left or right side of the page, depending on your view selection on.
    • If you selected the Explorer interface with Java, the Application Desktop page displays a list of Workflow Stages. The function options are located in the masthead.

Using the WYSIWYG Editor

The On-line WYSIWYG Editor allows you to edit content online without having to learn HTML. If the content was created using a Page Layout Template, you may see one or more WYSIWYG editors representing areas of the content that can be edited

You can also insert images into your content. See the  EditLive! Images  help for more information.

The icons and help button located at the top of the editor window will assist you in creating and editing your document. Depending on your permissions, you may not have access to all of the icons. Each WYSIWYG editor window has a Help button provided by the vendor to assist you with the editor's functions. A WSD Help screen is provided by clicking the Help button located at the bottom of the WYSIWYG editor window.

Using the Browser Editor

The WSD Browser Editor allows you to edit HTML content online. Because of browser restrictions, the document may not exceed 32KB in size. A WSD Help screen is provided by clicking the Help button located at the bottom of the Browser Editor window.
