TeamWSD lite Eliminates the Need for FTP in Web Content Management

September 30, 1998, Mt. Airy, MD - CyberTeams, Inc. today announced the Beta Release of TeamWSD lite, its newest software product designed to provide central control over multiple data repositories and virtual domains. This revolutionary new product provides users with authenticated access to individual domains and multiple segments of single domains using browsers instead of direct server access.

TeamWSD lite is coupled with WebSite Director lite, another CyberTeams' web content management product. The teaming of these two products allows corporate administrators to define individual user data repositories that can encompass an entire domain, or only a segment of a domain. Because of its simplicity and ease of use in creating and viewing web content, web hosting companies will find using TeamWSD lite the perfect way to provide web content management services to their users.

Susanne Bullo, president of Sweet Homes, a Seattle-based hosting company says, "I am more than pleased with the ease of use and security of WebSite Director lite. As a web hosting company, Sweet Homes needs the ability to allow its clients to access their sites via the web browser. I've looked at many different site managers out there, and WebSite Director lite surpasses them with flying colors! I'd highly recommend this program to all hosting companies out there! I'm looking forward to offering TeamWSD lite to my customers."

Because TeamWSD lite eliminates the need for direct server access, it ensures Internet Service Provider customers can have better server security and privacy of content in a shared server environment. Instead of using FTP, end users can manage their web pages easily and quickly using the WebSite Director lite browser-based interface.

"Providing a simple method of managing personal web pages that is easy to use and understand has always been a challenge," says Eric Buhr, president of Fort Wayne Internet (FWI), a large, regional Internet Service Provider in the Midwest. "We are participating in this Beta test because I believe that centralized administrative control, eliminating the need for FTP, and providing browser-based access makes TeamWSD lite a natural tool for our customers."

TeamWSD lite and WebSite Director lite operate on web servers running Microsoft® Windows NT and many UNIX operating systems. They have been certified for use with Apache, NCSA, Netscape, O'Reilly WebSite Pro, and version 3.x and 4.x of Microsoft Internet Information Server. UNIX support includes FreeBSD, HP-UX, Linux, SGI, Solaris, and SunOS. WebSite Director lite includes new functionality to support Microsoft Internet Explorer v4.x browsers, a new interactive help system, plus tutorials designed to maximize initial productivity following installation.

Pricing and Availability
TeamWSD lite is free to Beta Testers during the test period. Qualified Beta Testers will be offered substantial discounts when the product is commercially released. The commercial release of TeamWSD lite will be priced at an annual fee of $15.00 per managed user data repository. Volume pricing discounts are available for Internet Service Providers with large user communities in excess of 10,000 user repositories.
