PRIVATE DIRECTORY

If your company's web-content management process requires the segregation of certain documents for control by a separate group of individuals, your company may have chosen to implement the Private Directory functionality in WebSite Director (WSD). Private Directories (your system administrator may have defined more than one) are visible only to users who have been given permission to access them (see Add New User or Edit User Info).

  • Note: Private directories are useful for storing confidential documents, or documents containing sensitive information. Only those users with 'Private Directory' permission are allowed to access a Private Directory. If the Private Directory name does not display in the Current Documents or Directories list, you do not have access permission.
Note to System Administrators: Private Directories are usually defined at the time WSD is installed, but may also be defined after installation.
