EDIT DOCUMENT 

This screen displays the following information about the selected document: 

Document The path and filename of the document selected on the previous screen.
Title The title of the document. WSD uses this information in reports and notification messages. 
Author The name and E-mail address of the author. 
Leave Document Locked The document will be locked while you are working on it. You can also lock the document by selecting this check box and clicking RETURN . The document  will remain locked until you select this check box again to remove the check mark. Users with User Administration permission may unlock a document via the Document Properties screen. See Locked Documents for more information.

FUNCTIONS
UPLOAD Upload a document from your local computer (see Upload below).
VIEW DOCUMENT Display the document in a browser window.
PROPERTIES Display the Properties screen for the document.
EDIT ONLINE Edit the  document online (see "Create or Edit Online" below).
DOWNLOAD Download the document to your local computer. Note: You may wish to "Leave Document Locked" while you are editing the document offline.


UPLOAD

You can upload a document from your local computer as follows:

1 Type the path and name of the file on your local computer into the Local Filename data entry field, or
instead of typing the file name, click the Browse button to select the filename.
2 Click UPLOAD to upload the file. After the document has uploaded, the "Document Upload Complete" screen confirms the upload.
3 Click Ok on the confirmation screen to return to this screen. You can then Edit the document (see below) or return to the previous screen.

CREATE OR EDIT ONLINE

WSD provides two ways to create or edit a document online:

  • by using the EditLive! or eWebEditPro WYSIWYG editor 
  • if you know HTML, by using your browser's editor.
You can access these editors by completing the following steps:
 
1 Select the method you want to use to create or edit your document. WYSIWYG - Create your document online using the WYSIWYG editor selected on the User Preferences screen.  
TEXT - Create you HTML document online using a browser editor. Note that due to browser constraints, documents may not exceed 32k bytes.TEXT - Create or edit your HTML document online using your browser's editor. Note that due to browser constraints, documents may not exceed 32k bytes.

Click EDIT ONLINE. WSD displays the window for either the WYSIWYG editor window or the browser editor window so you can create or edit your document online. When you finish, click UPDATE AND RETURN to save the information and return to this screen.
