WebSite Director (WSD) Page Layout Templates allow users with no knowledge of HTML to create and maintain web pages that have a pre-defined format. These templates specify which portions of a document can be created and edited by the user. The completed pages will be comprised of the HTML code defined by the template developer and the content entered by the user in the specified template areas. The following documents are provided to help you create a page layout template:
The Maintain Page Layout Templates screen
provides access to the screens where you can add and maintain Page Layout
Templates. This screen displays a list of existing Templates for your site. The
following functions are available:
VIEW TEMPLATE | Highlight the name of the template in the Templates list and click this button to view the template in "View Sample" format. To view the template's HTML source code, you must select the "View Source Checkbox" before using this function. |

Check prior to selecting VIEW TEMPLATE to display the template's HTML source code in a browser window. |
ADD NEW TEMPLATE | Displays the Add New Template screen. |
EDIT TEMPLATE | Highlight the name of the template to be edited in the Templates list and click this function button to display the Edit Template screen. |
Highlight the name of the template to be deleted and click this button to submit the delete request. The Confirm Delete Template screen allows you to confirm or cancel the delete attempt. | |
If you make a change to a template, this function allows you to update all documents that use the template with the changed template information. A confirmation screen lists the documents that were updated, plus any documents that could not be updated (with the reason, if known). |
