SUBMIT NEW REQUEST

This screen begins the Submit New Request process whereby you select a directory, submission type, and (for all but new content) content or template to be submitted into the WSD workflow.

NOTE: If your request is for an existing document that was originally created via WSD, but modified/re-published to the site by some other method (for example, FTP), you will receive a message asking if you want to submit the published version or the WSD version. If you select WSD, you will be submitting the previously published version, not the current version on the web site.

The four selection bars - Menu Bar, Tool Bar, Address Bar and Function Bar - provide access to WSD functions. You may hide  or display  any or all of these bars.

Workflow Stage

The default workflow stage for your system displays under the screen title in the upper right portion of the screen. The value will always reflect the submission stage into which requests will be placed, based on the following:

  1. If you have been assigned an Approval Class, the new request will be placed in the Default Workflow Stage for your assigned Approval Class.
  2. If you have not been assigned an Approval Class, and the subdirectory displayed in the Address space has an assigned Approval Class, the value will reflect the submission stage for the Approval Class assigned to the subdirectory.
  3. If none of the above are true, the request will be placed submission stage assigned to the Default Approval Class for your system (assigned on the System Configuration screen).

Locate Existing Content/Template

This screen also allows you to locate existing content/template files if you do not know their location or filename. If you are submitting a request to modify existing content , you may create a request with a ficticious filename. Use the "Comments" to provide the necessary information so the document or template can be located by someone else in the workflow process.

You can also use Live Submit to locate and submit the content.  Make sure there is no directory name in the Address data entry area, then click  Live Submit on the Menu Bar.  A pop-up window lists the available Live Submit functions (Add/Upload, Modify, etc.), and displays your site's home page in another window. Starting with your home page, navigate to the page you wish to submit, then click the appropriate function on the Live Submit pop-up window.
