MAINTAIN DOCUMENTS Accessed from the Application Desktop screen

WebSite Director (WSD) presents the Maintain Documents screen when you click MAINTAIN DOCUMENTS on the WSD Application Desktop screen. This screen allows you to access the WSD document maintenance functions.

This screen displays the following information:
 
Working Directory The root directory of the portion of your web server that WSD maintains. The Working Directory is primarily used to construct fully-qualified URLs (Universal Resource Locators) to the pages maintained by WSD.
Current Directory When you first access this screen, this data entry field displays the Working Directory name. You may type a new subdirectory name, or select a subdirectory from the Current Documents: list. See CHANGE DIRECTORY below.
Current Documents The names of the subdirectories and documents in the Current Directory. If you will be selecting a function for an existing document (for example, Edit Document), you must highlight the document name in this list.
CHANGE DIRECTORY to change to a different directory, highlight the directory name in the Current Documents: list and click this button. The directory name will display in the Current Directory: data entry field.

Function Buttons

WSD displays function buttons along the side of the screen. Some of these buttons may not be available if you do not have permission to access the functions. The maximum number of buttons that can be present are listed below.

If a document is currently being edited by another user, or has been locked by another user, the message, "Document is locked by <last name>, <first name> (<userid>)" displays by the name of the document. See Locked Documents for more information.
 
VIEW DOCUMENT Highlight a document name in the Current Documents: list and click this button to display the document. You may only view the selected document.
PROPERTIES Highlight a document name in the Current Documents: list and click this button to display information about the highlighted document.
ADD NEW DOCUMENT Click to access the Add Document screen where you may create a new document.
UPLOAD NEW DOCUMENT Click to access the Upload New Document screen where you may upload the new document.
DOWNLOAD DOCUMENT Select a document from the Current Documents: list and click this button to download a copy of the document to your local hard drive. Your browser will prompt you to enter a location on your local hard drive.
EDIT DOCUMENT Highlight a document name in the Current Documents: list and click this button to make changes to the document.
DELETE DOCUMENT Highlight a document name in the Current Documents: list and click this button to request that the document be deleted and display the Confirm Delete Document screen. On the Confirm Delete Document screen you may confirm that the document is to be deleted, or cancel the deletion request.
MOVE/COPY DOCUMENT Highlight a document name in the Current Documents: list and click this button to change the destination file path and/or name of the document, or copy the document to another directory and/or name
RENAME DOCUMENT Highlight a document name in the Current Documents: list and click this button to change the name of the highlighted document.
RETURN Click this button to return to the WSD Application Desktop sreen.
