The WebSite Director Express (WSD) Application Desktop screen displays when you log on to WSD with your username and password. This initial screen provides access to WSD functions based on your user permissions. If you choose to use WSD in Multiple Window mode (User Preferences), WSD will open new browser windows from the Application Desktop to perform the functions available.

The three selection bars - Menu Bar, Menu Tool Bar and Function Tool Bar - provide access to WSD functions. You may hide  or display  any or all of these bars. 

Immediately below these bars are the Folder Navigation and File Selection panels. You can hide  or show  either or both of these two panels. Folder Navigation lists the directories under Documents and Templates. Select/click a directory name in this list to list the files in the File Selection panel.

ADD OR MODIFY CONTENT

  1. Click  Documents in the Folder Navigation panel to display the list of Document directories.
  2. Locate and click the name of the directory where the content is or will be located.
    • The directory's files display in the File Selection panel.
  3. Select one of the following icons from the Tool Bar or Function Bar (for all but Add Document, you must first select the existing content).

 View Document - Click to display the content in a Browser window.

 View Properties - Click to display the Properties screen showing WSD-specific information about the selected content.

 Add Document - Click to display the Add Document screen.

 Edit Document - Click to display the Edit Document screen for the selected content.

 Rename Document -  Click to display the Rename Document screen for the selected content.

 Move/Copy Document - Click to display the Move/Copy Document screen for the selected content.

 Delete Document - Click to display the  Confirm Delete Document screen for the selected content. This screen allows you to confirm or cancel the deletion.

 Download Document - Click to begin the browser process to download the selected content to your local computer.

ADD OR MODIFY TEMPLATE

  1. Click  Templates in the Folder Navigation panel to display the template directories: Edit Layout Templates and Page Layout Templates.
  2. Click the applicable template directory where the template is or will be located.
    • The template's files display in the File Selection panel.
  3. Select one of the following icons from the Tool Bar or Function Bar (for all but Add Document, you must first select the existing content).

 View Template - Click to display the template in a Browser window.

 Add New Template - Click to display the Add New Template screen.

 Edit Template - Click to display the Edit Template screen for the selected template.

 Confirm Delete Template - Click to display the Confirm Delete Template screen for the selected template. This screen allows you to confirm or cancel the deletion.

 Download Template - Click to begin the browser process to download the selected template to your local computer.

 CREATE OR MODIFY FOLDER/DIRECTORY

  1. Click the applicable directory where the to be modified, or the parent directory for the new directory.
    • The directory's files display in the File Selection panel.
  2. Select one of the following icons from the Tool Bar or Function Bar.

 View Folder/Directory Properties - Click to display the Properties screen showing WSD-specific information about the selected directory.

 Create Folder/Directory - Click to display the Create Directory screen directory.

 Copy Folder/Directory - Click to display the Copy Directory screen for the selected directory.

 Move Folder/Directory - Click to display the Move Directory screen for the selected directory.

 Rename Folder/Directory - Click to display the Rename Directory screen for the selected directory.

 Delete Directory - Click to display the Confirm Delete Directory screen for the selected directory.  Caution: If you confirm the deletion, all directories and files under the directory will be deleted.
