DIRECTORY PROPERTIES

This screen displays the properties for the directory selected on the Maintain Web Site screen. You may change any of these properties as indicated below.

INFORMATION ON THIS SCREEN:
Directory Path The directory selected on the Maintain Web Site screen. You may not change this information.
Section Label This label will be used by the <$dirsection> template variable. The wording entered here should denote ownership of the information stored in this directory. See Template Language
Description The descripton of the type of content stored in this directory. You may type a descripton up to 255 characters in length. This information will be used by the <$dirdesc> template variable.
Default Approval Class (WSD Pro only)  The Approval Class assigned to this directory. You may select a different Approval Class from the drop-down list. For more information, see Maintain Approval Classes .
Edit Online Images Directory This is the directory or directories that will be used by the online WYSIWYG editor when you attempt to insert an image while editing content located in this directory. Multiple directory names must be separated by a comma.  If this field is left blank, the Default Edit Online Image Directory on the System Configuration  screen will be used.
Image Upload Directory This is the directory (there may be only one) that will be used by the online WYSIWYG editor when you insert an image from your local directory. If this field is left blank, the Default Image Upload Directory on the System Configuration  screen will be used. If no Image Upload Directory has been defined, an error message displays.
Directory Index Template This drop-down list display is Directory Indexing has been turned on for your installation of WSD (via the  System Policies  screen). When present,  this list contains templates filenames that you may use to format the directory's Index. For more information, see the Directory Indexing Tutorial .
Flags
  • Private Directory - Directories marked as "Private" (including all documents within these directories) can only be viewed from the Maintain Web Site screen. Private Directories are not visible in any other part of the WSD system (for example, Submit New Request will not show Private Directories). 
  • Maintain Index for this Directory - This selection will only be displayed if Directory Indexing has been turned on for your site via the System Policies screen. For more information, see the Directory Indexing Tutorial .  
  • Subdirectories inherit properties - This selection will cause subdirectories of this directory to inherit the properties of this directory. 
  • Do not inherit parent properties - When selected, this directory will not inherit the properties of the parent directory. 
  • Page Layout Template required - When selected, content added to this directory must use a Page Layout Template. This requirements may be overidden for individual users on their User Permissions screen, or for all new users on the Default User Permissions screen. 
  • Skip Orphan Document Check - When selected, WSD will not generate "Delete Requests" for orphaned documents published in this directory during the automated "Orphan Check" process in the "Cleanup Database" module when the "Auto Submit Delete for Orphaned Doc" option has been set to "Yes" on the System Policy screen.  
  • Exclude From Search When selected, WSD will skip over this directory during a search. This will any sub-directories under this directory, and the documents within the directories. To Exclude a single document from searches, see Document Properties.

  • FUNCTIONS:

    UPDATE Select this function to save any changes made on this screen, and return to the Maintain Web Site screen.
    USER PERMISSIONS Select this function to display the User Directory Permissions screen which allows you to designate access and update permissions for the directory.
    EDITOR PERMISSIONS Select this function to display the Editor Permissions screen where you can select the features to be used with the WYSIWYG editors.
    SUBMIT NOTIFICATIONS Select this function to display the Submit Notifications screen where you can select the users to receive immediate notification when updates are submitted for content that resides in the displayed directory.
    PUBLISH NOTIFICATIONS Select this function to display the Publish Notifications screen where you can select the users to receive immediate notification when updates are published for content that resides in the displayed directory.
    TEMPLATES Select this function to display the Directory Templates screen where you can select the templates (Header, Footer, Layout and Index) that are available to be used with content that resides in the displayed directory.
    CANCEL Select this function to cancel any information entered on this screen, and return to the Maintain Web Site screen.
